OKLAHOMA CITY - The Capitol Hill athletic department announced the hiring of Artur Gomes as the new boys soccer head coach on Tuesday.

Gomes arrives at Capitol Hill after spending the past five years serving as an assistant coach for the men's soccer team at Oklahoma Christian University. Originally from Brazil, he came to the United States in 2015 to play college soccer at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2019, and also won 3 NCCAA National Championships as well as two SAC Finals appearances.

He began his coaching career in 2018 while serving as the assistant coach for the Putnam City West boys soccer team. He later served at Putnam City High School in 2019 for a three-year stint.

While pursuing his Master's degree in Business Administration, Gomes joined the men's soccer team at Oklahoma Christian University in 2021. During that time, he also gained experience coaching at the youth level at OEFC.

"I am extremely excited to take on this new challenge to lead the boys soccer program at Capitol Hill!" said Gomes in his introductory press conference. "My expectations are to build a competitive team while putting our student-athletes in position to succeed in life after they leave the playing field."
